oh man! okay, here i go…
favorite cheap izakaya - village yokocho
favorite pricey izakaya - izakaya ten (great sake+drinks)
favorite dessert place - cha-an
favorite place to impress your family/work friends - sakagura
favorite comfort food place - soy
favorite to-go food place- otafuku

i left ramen and sushi places off the list because i don’t think i have a favorite. there are so many in the city, amazing and mediore, and if i wasn’t so poor i’d go to all of them. i went to hatsuhana once and it was pretty good, hide-chan and hakata ton-ton are great for your tonkotsu fix. but, i’m no expert. my favorite japanese restaurant of all time was in japan (lol), and i encourage anyone to go….shirube (汁べゑ) in shimokitazawa (a train ride away from tokyo). i miss that place so so much….
